Arrington’s CrunchPad Coming Soon For $400: Who Is Going To Buy It?

crunchpad-11The tablet PC, CrunchPad (more info) that TechCrunch (more info) founder Michael Arrington (more info) is decided to build himself is expected to hit the market in November as reported by Singapore newspaper The Straits Times. Fusion Garage, the Singapore based company that’s developing the Crunchpad gave a sneak peak of the final product to The Straits Times. Here are the full details of the product as reported in the article in Straits Times.

The fully working model, called a Crunchpad, has a 12-inch screen and weighs 1.2 kg. It allows users to watch YouTube videos, listen to music and edit documents, among other things. Its operating system, or OS, was also developed in-house. The device will not have storage space – which some analysts have pegged as a big drawback  and will instead run programs hosted on servers: so-called cloud computing.

Arrington has not yet confirmed these details but he has to say a lot of things to the press in his latest tweet. Last we heard about Crunchpad, it was going to be cost around $250-$300 but the expected cost is now shoot up at $400. Last week there were reports of Apple launching a tablet PC, a bigger version of Ipod Touch As claimed by Business Insider the Apple Tablet will cost around $600-$700. The question we are asking now is– Will Crunchpad get overshadowed by Apple Tablet?
