Finally AT&T Will Kick Off MMS In iPhones From September 25

iphone-mms_AT&TIn a press release AT&T has announced that iPhone 3G and 3GS users can finally use the much awaited multimedia messaging or MMS starting 25th September. But the original iPhone 2G users will miss out on this upgrade. However tethering will not see light on that day, AT&T remained tight-lipped on tethering. The MMS facility will be getting enabled through a software update on the launch day. In a statement AT&T (more info) explained its position on the late arrival of MMS.

The unique capabilities and high usage of the iPhone’s multimedia capabilities required us to work on our network MMS architecture to carry the expected record volumes of MMS traffic and ensure an excellent experience from Day One. We appreciate your patience as we work toward that end.

The wait is finally over, the MMS technology which is being used by other smart phones users from ages is coming now to the ahead of the times, iPhone.
