HP Launched DreamScreen: It’s Not A Competitor Of Apple’s iTablet

HP_dreamscreenHewlett Packard (HP) is coming up with a Wi-Fi enabled super changed version of digital photo frame called DreamScreen. It’s a product of new class which lets you connect with your Facebook Friends, listen to music or share photos. But it is not capable of full web browsing as it doesn’t have any browser in it. That is why you can call it a hybrid of digital photo frame and  tablet PC. It is not a multitouch screen but have touch screen controls and remote for easy access of  apps, has a Facebook app which lets you see photos and upcoming events,  listen to Pandora Internet Radio and share photos through Snapfish service. Having a HP SmartRadio allows you to stream audios from over 10,000 radio stations. Memory? 2GB of built + USB support memory card.  Cost? Slightly on a higer send, but kinda Ok – $249 for a 10-inch screen and $299 for a 13-inch screen. You can find the full review here.

This said and done what I seriosuly can get inside my head is why so many renowned technology blogs are calling it a tablet PC and also comparing it with upcoming Apple tablet and Michael Arrington’s CrunchPad (here here and here). It is of different genre designed for casual use, targeted for a bedroom night stand or kitchen counter without full internet capabilities. Guys get some grip.
