Windows 7 Vs Mac – Apple Has Plans To Spoil Windows 7 Party?
Just a week left before the official launch of Windows 7 on October 22nd, but it seems like Apple is not going to sit quietly and watch the launch party of Windows 7. If the report from the Business Week is to be believed, Apple is planing to blast off ads to counter the release of Windows 7 by showcasing its flaws and tempting people to choose Mac. PC users are waiting eagerly for Windows 7 as they want to get rid of their eight year old ancient Windows XP (only 20% of PC users are using horrendous Vista). How are these ads going to lure PC users?
- Macs are least prone to viruses than Windows.
- Macs are easy to connect with widespread iPhones and iPods
- About 80% of PC users are still using Windows XP and upgrading from XP to Windows 7 is a arduous and punishing task.
Apple’s senior VP Phil Schiller gives an ironical statement in an interview (Apple fanboy can call it far-seeing)
“That’s Apple—calm, cool, and confident that the tech world is marching in its direction. We’ve been through these transitions before, and no matter how you look at it—it’s still Windows. When all is said and done, the Mac picks up share a bit at a time.”
I am waiting for Chrome OS to heat up the OS war.

Another evanglelist. I don’t understand why people love Apple so much. I even asked the question openly and didn’t get an answer. http://developmenterror.blogspot.com/2009/10/why-heck-would-anyone-buy-apple.html
Vista horrendous? I like it.
Snow Leopard? Ah, s**t, where have my files gone?!?

@Jim you liked vista? About 80% of PC users are still using the age-old XP and didn’t upgrade their systems to vista. And those who have upgraded their systems to vista have a horrible xperience dealing with it..
I upgraded. Problems early, but most were due to changes in how things work. Yeah. I liked it as well as any other OS.
I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Last I looked, my files are still here.
Yup, that’s apple way. Not a single fact, but a whole lot of slogans.
PS I laughed through all last week that easy and all-in-one MacOS video player can not play video full size!! You must buy $30 worth Pro version to do it. Way to go, macboys
Strange. Quicktime can play videos full screen. What player are you talking about? I also have Windows Media player for mac and VLC. Those can play fullscreen too. by the way, Quicktime can play WMV files.

Not all PC users !
I’m running Windows , OSX and Linux since more than a decade. My personal opinion is that Micrsoft Windows died with XP. I tried windows7 and vista both´systems are poor. I think the windows architecture reached it’s limits. NFTS and the layers above make the system slow too.
I won’t buy a Windows Pc any more.
I use Windows instead of Linux or Mac for the same reason most people do. It helps pay the bills.
I like Linux. I think Mac is a great home system. But for day to day work that will pay my bills, I’m stuck, like it or not, with Windows.
A better OS doesn’t do anyone any good if the right software isn’t available for it.

Impressive Dave.! Summarizes almost every thing.
@Dave – Right on man, I’m in the same boat. Most of my work is still done on PCs. My MAC is a great communication / entertainment box, helps get the fun off my PC.
Only problem is when I travel I have to run bootcamp most of the time to do work. So far the EMUs on OSX just don’t cut it IMO.
I love finally owning a MAC because I can look at it all day long at work, and I still like looking at it when I get home. I can’t say the same for windows.
Well, I run Parallels in OS X running Windows XP, since I do Visual Studio and Delphi programming at work. Works flawlessly. If I want to do real stuff at home, like video editing, images, I use the MAC, with Adobe Photoshop and iMovie, and Adobe premier. Works better than an Windows. I’ve also got MS Office for the MAC. Only reason why I use Office is because that’s what they use at work. I do flex programming at work on Windows, and Flex programming at home on the MAC. I also do Mac OS and iPhone programming on the MAC (can’t do that on Windows).
This argument is so old, and so useless, and I don’t understand why it still goes on. I have a Mac book pro, which my daughter uses to surf the web, the hardware is pretty, and solid, the OSX works fine. I also have 4 Windows machines in the house, 2 of which use Vista, and they all work fine as well. I have had no more problems with Vista, than I have with the Mac. they both have their own quirks, and things that annoy me. I work with Linux servers quite frequently, but don’t use the desktop much, as It’s still not as user friendly as it needs to be.
From what I have seen, there are 3 types of Mac lovers. Ones that grew up Mac, and love it cause they don’t know how to run a PC, Ones that screw with there PCs constantly, and screw them up royalty, then blame Microsoft when it doesn’t work any more, and ones that are geeks like me that can use either, and really don’t care which one they are on most of the time. When it comes down to it though, I end up on the Windows 95% of the time, simply because I need to run windows software, and don’t feel like messing with parallels just so I can say I use the Mac for everything.
you can keep telling yourselves whatever you like about Mac, but Microsoft still has the market.
