This argument is so old, and so useless, and I don't understand why it still goes on. I have a Mac book pro, which my daughter uses to surf the web, the hardware is pretty, and solid, the OSX works fine. I also have 4 Windows machines in the house, 2 of which use Vista, and they all work fine as well. I have had no more problems with Vista, than I have with the Mac. they both have their own quirks, and things that annoy me. I work with Linux servers quite frequently, but don't use the desktop much, as It's still not as user friendly as it needs to be.

From what I have seen, there are 3 types of Mac lovers. Ones that grew up Mac, and love it cause they don't know how to run a PC, Ones that screw with there PCs constantly, and screw them up royalty, then blame Microsoft when it doesn't work any more, and ones that are geeks like me that can use either, and really don't care which one they are on most of the time. When it comes down to it though, I end up on the Windows 95% of the time, simply because I need to run windows software, and don't feel like messing with parallels just so I can say I use the Mac for everything.

you can keep telling yourselves whatever you like about Mac, but Microsoft still has the market.

Well, I run Parallels in OS X running Windows XP, since I do Visual Studio and Delphi programming at work. Works flawlessly. If I want to do real stuff at home, like video editing, images, I use the MAC, with Adobe Photoshop and iMovie, and Adobe premier. Works better than an Windows. I've also got MS Office for the MAC. Only reason why I use Office is because that's what they use at work. I do flex programming at work on Windows, and Flex programming at home on the MAC. I also do Mac OS and iPhone programming on the MAC (can't do that on Windows).

@Dave - Right on man, I'm in the same boat. Most of my work is still done on PCs. My MAC is a great communication / entertainment box, helps get the fun off my PC.

Only problem is when I travel I have to run bootcamp most of the time to do work. So far the EMUs on OSX just don't cut it IMO.

I love finally owning a MAC because I can look at it all day long at work, and I still like looking at it when I get home. I can't say the same for windows.
