You can't actually take out a particular reason for its failure or success... As far as Windows mobile is concerned it was a total crash. Why Palm Pre is not as popular as iPhone? As both the OS i.e. Palm Pre webOS and hardware are designed by Palm. And they are as comparable as iPhone.
