Windows 7 Vs Mac Continues… Apple Buying Ads Against Windows 7 Search
Just before the launch of Windows 7, we wrote about “Windows 7 Vs Mac”. We said that time
“Apple is planning to blast off [Video] ads to counter the release of Windows 7 by showcasing its flaws and tempting people to choose Mac”
Apple did come out with a series of Ads targeting Windows 7 (check out the Video below, they actually are quite interesting). So, that is it you must have thought? Wrong. Now comes an even more interesting (though not surprising) stuff. First let me start with the fact that this year alone Apple spent half a billion dollars on advertising. This becomes evident in the 10-K form filed last week. A part of this huge money is going in to buy Google Ad Words against Windows 7. The snapshot below explains it all.
Though this not Google bombing, as many blogs have reported. Firstly Google Bombing is some thing entirely different and secondly Google has now fixed its algorithm and Google Bombing no longer works. I would say this is just a smart way of publicity. Apple is just exploiting the fact that many people will be searching a Download link of Windows 7 after its launch. Ethical or unethical? Well talking about MS Vs Apple and expecting ethics, that is not fair!

unreal. How can an organization stoop as low as Apple. Having competing ads is one thing, stealing ads words is another.

Ken this is not stealing. Google permits this… so it quite logical for Apple to do this. This is a smart move.
Why didn’t Microsoft learn from its past mistake of dividing windows into different operating systems? I spent a good two hours pulling out my hair while looking for a way to fax a document through Vista home premium… only to learn they took out this VERY BASIC TOOL. It’s not like I need a F’ing Fax, but the one time I do, not only do I find it’s not included with “Vista H.P”, but I have to pay a third party to fax a doc? WHO USES FAX THIS DAYS!??!?! Why will I want to subscribe for such a service?!?
What’s even more important is I realized this is not the first time I got soooo stressed out because of something Vista did, or did not do. And now WINDOWS 7 is being offered in this ridiculous manner, again? NO, NO , NO. Microsoft has fooled me far too many times for me to go through this with another operating system. I’m taking the leap and getting a MAC – I am going to break my computer, take it to Best Buy, and get my extended warranty’s worth so that I can buy a MAC. BING BOOM BANG, THANK YOU MA’AM, BOOM GOES THE DYNOMITE .
Enough is enough, and if Microsoft can’t humble it’s self enough to admit to a mistake and put that operating system back into one piece, then I won’t play – oh’ and those prices are ridiculous! Sooner or later people will have to upgrade to poses a certain feature… And I guess that’s the idea.
Microsoft’s greed is what pushed me out of their system.
Next thing will be finding an Office Alternative – Open Office or Google docs anyone? Or IWORK from Apple… Well, if I’m going Apple, I may as well say F@#k Microsoft All the way! I just hope apple jumps into the gaming industry too. Some of these XBOX games, like fable 2 have nasty glitches.
Microsoft’s greed is just bull.
