The creators of Swype predict that users will achieve over 50 words per minute, with the CTO and Founder Cliff Kushler claiming to have reached 55 words per minute.[3][4] On 22 March 2010 a new Guinness World Record of 35.54 seconds was set for the fastest text message on a touchscreen mobile phone using Swype on the Samsung Omnia II, and improved on 22 August of the same year to 25.94 using a Samsung Galaxy S. [5] The world record text message consists of 26 words and was typed in 25.94 seconds, which corresponds to a speed of 60 words per minute.This record was promptly broken by an iPhone, with a user typing the same sentence in under 22 seconds

The author of this artical is apparently a 22 year old assface.
Full keyboards are not ugly and they are much more accurate than touch screens. Just because something is new and hip does not make it better.

I have to disagree completely. I find it sad that my options are getting smaller and smaller when trying to find a device that is not a touch screen. I’ve tried numerous devices, from phones to tablets, etc, and I’m sorry to say, but touch screen is incredibly inaccurate. Nothing aggravates or slows me down more then a stupid touch screen. Aside from that, I absolutely hate having to block part of the view of my screen in order to input information. Any good electronic with touchscreen should have a qwerty as-well. If not for any other reason then the fact that you are screwed when that delicate touch screen fails.
